Thanks Obama...

I was finally able to use them starting last week after a relatively dry winter. So much fun, you're missing out man.

The most we've had in Illinois is a light dusting. Our winters are so unpredictable (and the plow crews so plentiful) that snow treads only see real action maybe once or twice a season.

It's true. I haven't been able to do any parking lot hooning scientific research on adhesion and coefficients of friction in low traction environments here in the Boston area, either, because I have snow tires.
In contrast, a few years back, when my Miata was on RE11s and my snow tires were still in storage in Maine, we got over two feet of snow on Halloween.

I had envisioned snow clogged highways and byways, and maybe a pregnant royal Princess going into labor who I could heroically drive to the hospital, since her security detail was so ill-prepared.
dammit

This is also what happens when I buy and AWD/4WD vehicle. I've always had 2wd trucks, but the one winter I had a 4wd truck, we got barely any snow. Now this year, we bought my wife and AWD Mazda CX-5, and we've had no measurable snow in Chicagoland yet this year.
